Mindful movement. It's at the core of why we do what we do at ALO-it's our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That's the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.
Director of Product Development
OVERVIEW:
Alo Yoga is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Product Development to lead and inspire our Product Development team. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving the development of innovative, premium-quality apparel that reflects Alo's brand values and elevates the customer experience.
As Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the full product lifecycle from concept to production, while partnering closely with Design, Raw Materials R&D, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Merchandising. You will play a critical role in aligning product development with brand strategy, ensuring timely execution, margin targets, and category growth across multiple seasons.
We're looking for a creative leader with deep technical knowledge, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to lead teams, build scalable processes, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute the product development strategy for women's (and/or men's) apparel to support Alo's business goals, growth targets, and brand positioning. - Team Leadership & Development:

Partner closely with Design, Technical Design, Sourcing, Planning, Merchandising, and Raw Materials to ensure seasonal alignment, calendar adherence, and product excellence. - Product Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the end-to-end product development process from concept through to production approval, ensuring timelines, quality standards, and margin targets are met or exceeded. - Innovation & Product Integrity:
Drive innovation in product construction, materials, and manufacturing techniques to deliver industry-leading performance and aesthetics. - Calendar & Process Ownership:
Own and optimize the seasonal product development calendar; streamline workflows and implement tools and processes that drive efficiency and scalability. - Vendor Management & Global Sourcing:
Collaborate with the Sourcing team on vendor allocation and performance, ensuring the right balance of cost, quality, capacity, and capability across the supply chain. - Data-Driven Decision Making:
Use KPIs and performance metrics (e.g., IMU, fit approval rate, sample execution, vendor scorecards) to guide decisions, improve processes, and inform future planning. - Technology Enablement:
Champion the adoption and optimization of tools such as PLM, Adobe Suite, and other systems that improve transparency, collaboration, and execution. - Cross-Departmental Influence:
Act as a key voice in cross-functional leadership meetings, contributing to long-term product strategy and roadmap development.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Apparel, Product Development, or a related field
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in apparel product development, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role
- Deep knowledge of the athletic, performance, or lifestyle apparel industry
- Proven experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams
- Strong understanding of apparel construction, garment engineering, fabric development, costing, and sourcing
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead multiple timelines across categories and teams
- Advanced ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PLM systems, and Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
- Passion for innovation, sustainability, and pushing the boundaries of performance apparel
