A Quick Overview

As an Automotive Technician Trainee, you will receive training to become a skilled auto glass technician. After completing our comprehensive training program, you will earn the Safelite SafeTech certification and gain essential skills to perform glass repair, replacement, and recalibrations on your own. We expect our trainees to embody the Safelite Spirit, demonstrating a positive attitude, compassion, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Engage in hands-on and classroom training to learn the Safelite methods.
• Observe and assist with the installation and repair of auto glass.
• Learn to recalibrate automotive safety systems and perform diagnostic tests.
• Offer additional products and services to enhance customer safety.
• Prepare for and pass tests to become a certified Safelite Technician, showing proficiency in installations.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles as well as tools and chemicals used on the job.
• Complete other assigned duties and adhere to company policies and standards.

• Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25/hour, increasing to $24/hour upon completion of training and certification.
• Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades sold for customer safety.

Education Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• A valid state-issued driver's license is required for operating a company vehicle.

Experience Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in tight spaces, bending and twisting as needed.
• Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to operate motor vehicles following all relevant laws and regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and dedication to outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work safely outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.
• Willingness to work with chemicals and follow safety protocols.
• Flexible availability to meet customer needs with scheduled work hours.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools for recalibrations and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret in English, including technical instructions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code and safety policies.
• Resilience under pressure and ability to maintain performance levels.
