Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work within our Neuro ICU. In this role, you will collaborate with attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic patient care. Your focus will be the holistic well-being of patients, supporting their physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Care: As the NP/PA, you will assess, triage, and manage patient needs throughout their healthcare journey. You will collaborate with physicians and may provide autonomous care based on your specialty. Responsibilities include obtaining medical histories, performing physical exams, and formulating treatment plans.
- Patient Education & Support: Educate patients and families about care plans and available resources, and provide compassionate psychosocial support.
- Information Management: Ensure compliance with documentation standards and safeguard patient information against unauthorized access.
- Quality Management: Uphold high ethical and professional standards, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and best practices.
- Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and serve as a mentor to emerging healthcare professionals. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical protocols.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
Experience: Neuro ICU or ICU experience is required. Clinical experience in the specialty is preferred, but not mandatory.
Licensure: Active PA Certification or Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License, along with ACLS/BLS certification is required. Additional certifications may be necessary depending on specific care responsibilities.
Location: YNHHS facilities.
