Key Position Details:
- Hours/shifts: Sunday evening and Monday through Thursday day shift. Ability to pick up additional hours if desired during high need. Will have a holiday rotation.
- Locations: primarily the emergency department, with potential to assist the express care during a crisis.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined.
- Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
- Participates in health care team
- Promotes communication within the team and other interdisciplinary health care staff.
- Acts as resource to members of the team.
- Works with Emergency and Urgent Care team for program development.
- Acts as liaison with outside agencies as needed.
- Collaborates with hospital staff by consulting and rounding on patients if designated by the specialty.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree - Completion of accredited Physician Assistant program
- New Graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years experience in family practice, internal medicine, urgent or emergency care
- Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) required upon hire
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire
- Medium Work*:
- Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range: $133,120 to $151,008 per year
The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
