Position: Senior Accounting Manager
Pay Range: $38/hour
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Virginia Beach, VA (Onsite)

Job Overview for Senior Accounting Manager

The Lee Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join a reputable manufacturing company in Virginia Beach. This is an immediate opportunity for a strategic financial professional with strong technical skills and leadership ability. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and be motivated to build and improve accounting systems, processes, and team performance.

Job Responsibilities of Senior Accounting Manager

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
  • Lead and manage year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Manage and improve SAP-based financial systems and workflows
  • Prepare and review detailed financial reports and reconciliations
  • Lead cash management and liquidity planning initiatives
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable sales tax and tax filing requirements
  • Collaborate with tax advisors on planning and compliance
  • Drive continuous process improvements to support data integrity and operational efficiency
  • Partner with operations and leadership to deliver actionable financial insights
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications of Senior Accounting Manager
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including management
  • Year-end audit experience required
  • SAP proficiency required
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with sales tax filings and corporate tax compliance
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
