Conestoga Sports & Movement Instructor

Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center is looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Conestoga Sports and Movement Instructor to lead preschool and youth programming. We are seeking community-minded, safety-focused individuals who are passionate about recreation and enjoy working with our youngest participants of all abilities and backgrounds.
As an Early Childhood Sports and Movement Instructor you'll:
  • Lead engaging preschool level classes that promote skill development and fun
  • Support the needs of individuals and manage small group dynamics
  • Ensure physical safety by adapting activities to meet participants' abilities
  • Foster a welcoming and positive environment that encourages confidence, teamwork, and community
Instructors should feel comfortable teaching the following:
  • Yoga Basics
  • Pre-Gymnastics/Tumbling
  • Preschool Level Sports Introduction - Basketball, Soccer, T-Ball

Hours & ClassificationHours may vary and are based on program need. This position is typically scheduled for 2 to 29 hours per week, between 8:30am - 7:00pm, with opportunities Sunday through Saturday. Must have availability weekday afternoons/evenings between 3:45pm-7:30pm and Saturdays between 8:00am-4:00pm.
Qualifications
  • No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; be able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age. Pay rate range: $18.97-20.14 hourly
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age. Pay rate range: $20.68 - $23.30 hourly.
  • Must have over 2 years of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Pay rate range: $22.82 - $25.69 hourly.
  • : This is an advanced level position. Candidates must have over 2 years of experience and specialized training equivalent to four years of college in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age. Pay rate range: $32.11 - $36.14 hourly.

Driver Familiarization Course: This portion of the training is only for the staff who drive trailers, vans, or minibuses for THPRD. It helps operators get to know the vehicle they'll be driving. For van/bus drivers in Recreation Services this course will be included in the sessions of THPRD Drivers Training in Person.
