Job Summary:
The Retail Data Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining data in the computer system.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled cycle counts of inventory in designated areas of the store, yard, and warehouse.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, including missing, misplaced, or damaged items.
- Maintain accurate records of counted items and update inventory systems accordingly.
- Collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to validate inventory adjustments.
- Ensure that inventory locations are properly labeled and organized.
- Notify appropriate personnel of repeated inventory variances and assist with root cause analysis.
- Assist with preparation for physical inventory and participate in store-wide counts as needed.
- Operate handheld scanners and inventory software to record count data.
- Communicate with department managers and floor sales staff regarding stock corrections or anomalies.
- Report inventory issues that impact customer satisfaction or operational efficiency.
- Comply with company policies, safety procedures, and uniform standards.
- Participate in ongoing training related to inventory systems and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Compensation: $14.00 per hour
