Job Summary:

The Retail Data Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining data in the computer system.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled cycle counts of inventory in designated areas of the store, yard, and warehouse.

  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, including missing, misplaced, or damaged items.

  • Maintain accurate records of counted items and update inventory systems accordingly.

  • Collaborate with purchasing and receiving departments to validate inventory adjustments.

  • Ensure that inventory locations are properly labeled and organized.

  • Notify appropriate personnel of repeated inventory variances and assist with root cause analysis.

  • Assist with preparation for physical inventory and participate in store-wide counts as needed.

  • Operate handheld scanners and inventory software to record count data.

  • Communicate with department managers and floor sales staff regarding stock corrections or anomalies.

  • Report inventory issues that impact customer satisfaction or operational efficiency.

  • Comply with company policies, safety procedures, and uniform standards.

  • Participate in ongoing training related to inventory systems and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
