Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Surgical Technician, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will contribute to safe and effective nursing care within the operating room. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Demonstrating practical and specialized skills as outlined by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Preparing the operating suite by checking and organizing supplies, equipment, and instruments.
  • Maintaining surgical asepsis during the handling of instruments and materials.
  • Assisting with the turnover of the operating room between cases and ensuring cleanliness.
  • Preparing procedure rooms for future use by organizing equipment and reporting needs to supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Hold a Surgical Tech Certification.
  • One year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
