The Platform Product Group engineers focus on building a reliable, scalable, and compliant infrastructure that operates with speed, efficiency, and quality. This group consists of several teams, including Product Foundations (Identity, Payment, Risk, Proofing & Regulatory, Finhub), Machine Learning, Customer Experience, and Infrastructure.

The AI Platform Team is an innovative and ambitious unit dedicated to creating centralized AI infrastructure and acceleration solutions that boost productivity, spur innovation, and enhance customer experiences at Coinbase. As a Software Engineer on our team, you will be at the forefront of this transformative journey, working with cutting-edge AI models, frameworks, and tools that will redefine how individuals and businesses interact with AI.

Your Responsibilities:

• Explore and implement advanced GenAI techniques, such as large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI, to tackle complex organizational problems.
• Lead project execution by effectively managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while leveraging your technical expertise.
• Craft high-quality, well-tested code in Python and GoLang to meet critical product and business requirements.
• Design scalable, secure systems utilizing modern cloud technologies and best practices in the industry.
• Mentor team members on design principles, coding standards, and the adoption of AI productivity tools.
• Diagnose complex technical issues to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational ease.
• Review and uphold the security, scalability, and architectural integrity of feature designs across teams.
• Develop pipelines for integration with third-party vendors to streamline workflows.

What We Seek:

• A minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with a solid understanding of microservices architecture.
• Proficient in writing quality code that fulfills customer requirements.
• A deep appreciation for high-quality code and software engineering processes, with the ability to cultivate an environment that encourages these practices.
• Strong technical skills in system design and software development.
• A passion for establishing an open financial system that connects the world.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a preference for a culture of transparency.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience navigating rapid company growth (e.g., from startup to mid-size).
• Familiarity with GenAI frameworks/tools, Python, GoLang, Docker, Postgres, and MongoDB.
• A background in AI/LLM infrastructure is a strong advantage.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this role can range from $186,065 to $218,900 USD. Full-time offers from Coinbase will also include a target bonus, equity, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
