Forklift Operator

Your Role:

  • Safely operate a forklift, stacking and unstacking lumber on kiln carts.
  • Unload the green stacker at the production level and stack lumber according to our detailed stacking policy.
  • Keep the work area organized—this includes picking up loose boards from the yard and kiln, and sorting usable from unusable materials.
  • Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections and maintain cleanliness in the kiln areas.
  • Assist with maintenance and help with various tasks as requested by supervisors or kiln operators.
  • Adhere strictly to safety procedures, including daily checks of safety interlocks and lockout procedures.
  • Keep all work areas, including kiln and lumber yard, clean and organized.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least six months of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Industry forklift experience is necessary - you should be able to operate a 35,000-pound forklift.
  • Able to differentiate sizes and dimensions of lumber.
  • Capable of handling physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical.
