What is a Retail Parts Specialist?

This advanced role is responsible for supporting the DIY automotive business with expert knowledge in store systems, automotive parts, and problem-solving for customers. As a Retail Parts Specialist, you will have the opportunity to assist customers in identifying and troubleshooting issues while offering top-notch service. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment where high standards of customer service and store presentation are a priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a superior customer experience during visits and phone interactions.
  • Meet personal and store sales objectives.
  • Manage DIY services such as battery installations and testing.
  • Maintain high standards of store appearance and customer service.
  • Fulfill key holder responsibilities, including safety and opening/closing tasks.

Additional Duties:

  • Contribute to inventory management processes.
  • Ensure store cleanliness and organization.
  • Provide expert DIY services for customer projects.

Success Factors:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to locate and stock parts efficiently.
  • Comprehensive safety knowledge.
  • Proficient in operating inventory systems and store equipment.
  • In-depth parts and automotive system knowledge.
  • Skilled in using POS and parts lookup systems.
  • Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving and recommendation abilities.

Essential Skills:

  • Understanding of automotive systems, including engine, brakes, and suspension.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English (Spanish is a plus).
  • Capability to interpret safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Flexible availability for various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3-5 years in an automotive parts role.
  • Proven sales ability with experience in customer transaction fulfillment.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • ASE certification is preferred but not mandatory.
