Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Tax Specialist at H&R Block, you will receive comprehensive training and support from a dedicated team to ensure your success in the role. Enjoy the flexibility and additional earning potential as you develop your skills. A typical day includes:

  • Conducting thorough tax interviews with clients both in-person and through virtual platforms such as video calls, phone, chat, and email.
  • Preparing accurate and complete tax returns.
  • Driving business growth by enhancing client retention and offering additional products and services.
  • Providing clients with essential IRS support.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve office goals.
  • Continuously expanding your tax knowledge and expertise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in customer service or retail environments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and supportive atmosphere.
  • Availability to work 25-35 hours weekly during the tax season, with potential for up to 40 hours during peak weeks.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort using virtual communication tools, including video, phone, and chat.
  • Strong communication skills, both in person and in writing.
  • Compliance with all IRS and applicable state requirements.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent or higher.
