Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient and family needs, working alongside an interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians in accordance with state laws, hospital regulations, and clinical pathways.
  • Conduct patient assessments, gather medical histories, perform physical exams, and create treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families about care plans, potential side effects, and available resources.
  • Provide psychosocial support to patients and families in a caring and professional manner.
  • Assist in the OR as a surgical assistant when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • 1-2 years of surgical or surgical oncology experience preferred.
  • Active or in-process Connecticut medical license.
  • ACLS/BLS Certification as required.
  • DEA License.
