Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin and featuring a 24/7 on-site heart-care team, invites you to explore how you can bring your talents to our dynamic team. We pride ourselves on our reputation, values, and commitment to growth in delivering innovative care.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time evening shifts with 8 or 10-hour options, plus on-call duties primarily overnight and occasional weekend calls.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room using aseptic techniques for optimal patient care
  • Assist with gowning and gloving, draping the surgical area, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Set up and maintain equipment and supplies for surgical procedures
  • Function as a Second Assistant as needed during surgeries
  • Notify appropriate staff of any equipment or supply issues
  • Transport patients and/or necessary equipment safely
  • Ensure readiness and sterility of specialty carts and instruments
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care relevant to their age group

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • No previous experience required

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Aseptic surgical techniques and knowledge of operating room equipment
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Lifting and carrying various weights safely
  • Handling mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards
  • Wearing personal protective equipment as required
