We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgery Oncology Nurse Practitioner to provide expert clinical care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a nationally recognized cancer institute, specializing in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic (HPB) oncology. You will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality treatment and support in their cancer journeys. Required Skills
- Current Minnesota Nurse Practitioner license or eligible for licensure
- Proven experience in surgical oncology, particularly HBP procedures
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans
- Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostics
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to assist in the operating room and handle wound and drain care
- Knowledge of oncology protocols and procedures
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making capabilities
- Prior experience with hepatic, biliary, or pancreatic surgeries
- Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or related specialties
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Bilingual language skills for diverse patient populations
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 2 years experience in surgical or oncology settings
- Experience working in a hospital environment with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
- MN state licensure required for quick onboarding
- Availability to start by March 9, 2026
- Ability to work scheduled hours of 07:30 to 16:00, Monday through Friday
- Travel reimbursement and certifications supported as applicable
- Willingness to work in both inpatient and outpatient care settings
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
