Schedule Details:
Full-time evening shifts (8 or 10 hours) with majority of call during the night. Be prepared for approximately 5-8 call slots and 1-2 weekends of call in an 8-week schedule. On-call requires arrival within 30 minutes.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Create a clean, safe, and efficient surgical environment by maintaining aseptic techniques and preparing materials and equipment.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures, understanding the needs of the surgical team.
  • Ensure the operating room's disinfection and efficiency, including equipment setup and packing post-procedure.
  • Transport patients and equipment safely.
  • Maintain specialty carts, assuring their readiness for use.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care for patients.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association is required within 6 months unless otherwise waived.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • No prior experience required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of aseptic techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Lift and carry weights as required for patient and equipment transport.
  • Regularly required to wear personal protective equipment.
