Schedule Details:
$10,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Eligible with distance-based relocation available. $2,000 SIGN-ON Bonus Eligible for PM Shifts at ASLMC. Join our incredible OR team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, offering 24/7 on-site heart-care. Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe and efficient working environment for optimal patient care by practicing aseptic techniques and providing a sterile field.
  • Assist with various surgical procedures and maintain basic knowledge of their requirements.
  • Set up the operating room effectively and manage necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Function as a Second Assistant as needed.
  • Report equipment and supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients and manage equipment effectively.
  • Maintain specialty carts and ensure equipment is in working condition.
  • Perform patient positioning and transport duties safely.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate care for patients across different age groups.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, to be obtained within 6 months unless exempt.

Education:

  • Completion of an accredited program in Surgical Technology.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computers.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Must lift/push/carry various weights as required, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent movement including sitting, standing, squatting, bending, and twisting.
  • Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
  • Must have functional sight and hearing, and adhere to safety protocols including wearing protective gear.
