JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Cardiothoracic Surgeon Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Myers, FL Service Setting: Inpatient / Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: 01/05/2026 Open Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:45a 5:00p On-Call Shift Schedule: Intermittent weeknight call (MonThu); Weekend call one weekend per month Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: Distributed equitably across surgeons COVERAGE DATES 01/05/2026 Open PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Admissions: Yes Rounding: Included; all rounding done with an APP Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: Adult cardiothoracic surgical cases; inpatient surgical management FACILITY INFORMATION Specialty Backup Available: Cardiology, Surgery, CVICU CTS APP coverage Support Staff Available: APPs, Surgical PAs Reason for Coverage: Ongoing department coverage needs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Additional Requirements: Updated CV; Lee Health Signed Attestation COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: Fixed (Daily; OT after 10 hours; Weekly OT after 168 hours) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases Preoperative and postoperative rounding Emergent weekend surgical cases as needed JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active FL license required Board: BC/BE in Cardiothoracic Surgery DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS/ACLS as applicable Experience: Cardiothoracic surgery experience required Other Qualifications: Ability to collaborate with APPs; telehealth not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Perform inpatient cardiothoracic surgical cases Conduct preoperative and postoperative rounding with APP support Cosign APPcreated progress notes and consult notes; add surgeon notes as needed Provide weekend rounding (approximately one weekend per month) Cover emergent weekend OR cases and respond to n
