Under the direction of the Regional Director,Patient Access, the manager directs, evaluates, controls, and organizes thestaff and functions of the assigned Patient Access Department.
This positionmanages the oversight and implementation of the patient access programs byidentifying, planning, implementing and monitoring initiatives to improveefficiency, reduce errors, and drive towards best practice. This position willfocus on improving business processes within their functional area and theoverall patient accounting areas with goals of adding revenue, reducing costs,increasing efficiency, eliminating waste, defects, and other non-value added orduplicate efforts, with a continuous focus on improved customerexperience.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily function through both direct supervision of staff, as well as managing Supervisors who have responsibility for many aspects of daily operations.
- Accountable for at least one Job Assignment.
- Implement standardized processes to Best Practice, responsible for setting and tracking metrics for quality and productivity.
- Respondspromptly, professionally and courteously to all customers' needs.
- Cooperatesand communicates effectively with all McLaren Health Care team members.
- Five years in a patient financial services or arelated department.
- Two (2) years' experience in a leadership role for a staff of five or more members leading or assisting in all phases of effective supervision (ie. Recruitment, performance management, training).
- Experience in health care setting with workingknowledge of medical terminology and billing systems/software.
- Must have effective interpersonal, communicationand analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business management,accounting or related field.
