Cargo Claims Specialist

Job Description
As a Cargo Claims Specialist, you will play a vital role in collaborating with various departments, customers, and insurance adjusters to mitigate risk and provide top-notch service to Hub Group’s clients. You will be responsible for effectively managing the life cycle of property damage, freight, inventory variance, insurance, and legal claims reported by our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle the intake and processing of claims for assigned customers.
- Manage email communications for clients and customers efficiently.
- Compile and organize all necessary documents and information related to claims.
- Deliver regular status updates to customers and relevant internal teams.
- Create and distribute internal reports, tracking metrics and analytics.
- Pursue recovery of claims payments from third-party service providers.
- Analyze data on incidents entered into the claims database from various stakeholders.
- Review and assess contractual agreements and physical damage reports in line with company guidelines.
- Engage with customers and carriers regarding claim filings or denials.
- Conduct investigations into claims, collecting evidence and preserving relevant information promptly.
- Negotiate settlements and claim resolutions, processing payment requests and completing final case paperwork.
- Be adaptable; responsibilities may shift or evolve over time.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Exceptional organizational and customer service abilities.
- 1-2 years of experience in claims handling.
- Previous experience with final mile claims is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with claims database software, including trend analysis and report generation.
Salary: $17/hr - $20/hr
This is an estimated salary range based on various factors such as skills, experience, education, and market conditions.
