Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) plays a vital role in providing high-quality resident-centered nursing care in long-term care facilities. Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the NA assists with daily living activities including:

  • Bathing and grooming
  • Toileting and dressing/undressing
  • Keeping accurate records of vital signs
  • Providing emotional and psychosocial support

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with mobility and transfers
  • Executing dietary duties to enhance residents' dining experiences
  • Collaborating with nursing staff to ensure effective care procedures
  • Documenting interactions and condition changes
  • Supporting wellness and recreational programs
  • Maintaining cleanliness in living areas

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior experience in long-term care is appreciated.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or the ability to obtain one within four months of hiring.
  • Commitment to completing 12 hours of continuing education annually.

Potential driving responsibilities may require a valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle report.
