Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with at least 3 years of applicable experience and advanced knowledge of cardiac and EP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work in a cardiovascular invasive lab setting
• Assist cardiologists with invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiologic procedures
• Patient population includes those requiring advanced cardiac, vascular, and EP interventions
• 4x10 day shifts per week
• Uses a variety of electrical, imaging, and physiologic monitoring equipment specific to cardiac and vascular care
• EPIC charting experience is required
• Level 1 trauma experience is required
• No local candidates within a 50-mile radius are accepted
• Assist cardiologists in all aspects of invasive and diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, including hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Set up and operate electrical/imaging equipment, maintain and troubleshoot technology in the lab
• Support patient care during procedures, including communication, education, and anxiety alleviation
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and instruments, ensuring aseptic techniques
• Collaborate with research staff and team members to uphold care standards and quality outcomes
• Interpret EKGs and procedural outcomes, reporting significant findings to physicians
• No travel partners are accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• Travelers may not continuously work at the facility for over 1 year without a 6-month break
• Dress code requires compliance with lab standards

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of applicable invasive cardiology and EP experience
• Associate's degree in a related field or certificate of completion from a radiology program
• IEMA (Illinois) Radiologic Technology License required if applicable
• Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications
• ARRT registration in Radiology required
• Advanced EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills
• Competency in moderate sedation administration and related protocols
• Experience with Level 1 trauma and EPIC EMR required
