Job Description
Job Title: Cardiovascular Invasive Technician
Profession: Tech

Experience: Minimum three years of applicable experience
License: State License in Radiology
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT Registration in Radiology
Must-Have: Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and the operation of equipment for cardiac/vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.

Description:
To assist cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic and/or therapeutic cardiac and vascular procedures.
To provide technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
To display good judgement and problem-solving skills.
To organize and prioritize performance based on procedural findings.
To advocate for patient needs.
To interpret hemodynamic and procedural outcomes.
To select and operate procedural supplies and equipment per procedural findings.
To operate monophasic and biphasic defibrillators.
To communicate and educate patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure focused care.
To recognize and assist with anesthesia needs of deeply sedated or anesthetized patients.
To collaborate with research coordinators in laboratory-based research.
To interact professionally with physicians to facilitate patient safety and optimal outcomes during procedures.
To collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning patient care.
To assume accountability for patient care and direct team members as necessary for optimal patient outcomes.
To effectively train and mentor team members.
To interact professionally with vendors to ensure patient safety and positive outcomes.
To update knowledge and skills as equipment changes are implemented.
To check and evaluate equipment performance for safety daily.
To manage digital archiving systems for safe storage of patient images and reports.
To notify appropriate personnel about any malfunctioning equipment.
To troubleshoot and problem-solve equipment issues within the area.
To query archived images and create CDs for patient information transmission.
To provide care during coronary invasive procedures in accordance with established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
To document significant observations and care provided.
To maintain knowledge of aseptic technique.
To assist in using sterile guidewires, catheters, and other devices.
To prepare instruments for sterilization and suggest procedural equipment changes for quality care.
To prepare sterile fields and correct deviations from aseptic technique.
To alert physicians of any irregular activity through accurate EKG interpretation.
