The Dishwasher role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment at Brose New Boston. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to meet health and safety standards. The dishwasher supports the food service team by managing the flow of clean items, enabling smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service. This role requires physical stamina to handle lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods, contributing to the overall productivity of the kitchen. Ultimately, the dishwasher helps create a hygienic and organized workspace that upholds the company's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic reading and comprehension skills to understand instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely and repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Capability to stand for extended periods while performing repetitive motions.
- Demonstrated reliability with regular and punctual attendance.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of proper sanitization techniques and health code regulations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and manual cleaning methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, sinks, and counters, to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Assist kitchen staff by promptly supplying clean dishes and utensils to support efficient food preparation and service.
- Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in accordance with company policies and environmental standards.
Skills:
The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions ensure that the dishwasher can accurately adhere to cleaning protocols and safety procedures. Physical skills like lifting heavy weights and standing for long periods are essential for managing the physical demands of the role efficiently. Sanitization knowledge is applied daily to maintain hygiene standards critical to food safety.
