About the role

Seeking a skilled Postgres SME to manage and optimize our Postgres database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Postgres administration, security, and performance tuning, supporting critical government contracting projects. This mid-level role offers the opportunity to work on impactful enterprise security and cloud computing solutions in a hybrid setting at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain high-performance Postgres database environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues promptly.
  • Implement and enforce database security best practices to ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database solutions.
  • Manage database backups and recovery procedures to safeguard data.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Postgres technology.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Active Secret Clearance and US Citizenship.
  • Possession of Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Postgres database administrator or SME.
  • Advanced knowledge of Postgres configuration, tuning, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/pgSQL programming.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Commitment to following database security best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
