Position Overview

The Systems Analyst III will provide expertise in designing and optimizing enterprise-level data environments for the Department of Defense (DoD). This role emphasizes data architecture, governance, and interoperability, with a focus on transforming siloed or legacy data structures into standardized, queryable repositories. The analyst will collaborate across DoD components to align authoritative data sources, enforce data standards, and develop technical profiles and schemas that support interoperability and enterprise-wide decision-making. The position also includes contributing to quick-turn data architecture assessments, preparing documentation for leadership, and supporting policy and standards development that enable secure and efficient data sharing across the DoD enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data architectures that support enterprise interoperability and mission outcomes.
  • Support data governance and standards enforcement, ensuring compliance with DoD CIO guidance.
  • Assist in the transformation of legacy/stovepiped data environments into structured, queryable repositories.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across DoD Components to integrate authoritative data sources and ensure consistency of data models.
  • Contribute to the development of technical profiles, schemas, and metadata standards for enterprise-wide adoption.
  • Support quick-turnaround data architecture assessments and provide recommendations for interoperability and capability alignment.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and briefings on data services and architecture solutions for leadership and governance bodies.
Qualifications

Required:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • 5-8 years of experience in data architecture, systems analysis, or data governance (preferably DoD/federal).
  • Working knowledge of DoD data standards, schema design, and metadata management.
  • Experience with enterprise data repositories, structured query environments, and interoperability frameworks.
  • Strong documentation and briefing skills.
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • Familiarity with DoD Data Strategy, Authoritative Data Sources (ADS), and metadata standards.
  • Experience supporting interoperability assessments or IT standards development.
