Pittsburgh area law firm is in need of an experienced Paralegal.

** Duties will include:**

  • Order, review, and summarize medical records to prepare factual responses for discovery.
  • Conduct regular phone interviews with clients and provide timely updates on their legal cases.
  • Evaluate cases thoroughly to prepare for attorney review and filing.
  • Oversee the workflow of cases using our electronic case management system.
  • Draft and send professional correspondence.
  • Draft pleadings, including complaints, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Provide general assistance to attorneys and senior paralegals.
  • Properly and consistently document all events and communications.
  • Submit invoices in a timely manner, adhering to firm policy.
  • Manage and meet deadlines for statutes of limitations (SOLs) and other filings under attorney supervision.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience
  • Professional verbal and written communications skills
  • Detail oriented with a desire to make a positive contribution
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to assist attorneys and senior paralegals effectively.
  • Strong skills in researching legal precedents, drafting legal documents, and writing reports and correspondence.
  • Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating case details, identifying key issues, and contributing to case strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with familiarity of legal/case management software
  • Understanding of medical records and terminology with the ability to summarize and interpret medical documents
