Job Summary

The Lead Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) plays an essential role in organizing and guiding the resident assistants to ensure that our residents receive the highest level of care according to their personalized care plans. Your knowledge of delivering age-appropriate care to both adult and geriatric residents is crucial. As a vital communication link, you will provide hands-on support to residents while collaborating with additional resources in the care delivery process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating the resident admission process and mentoring new staff and students.
  • Documenting care outcomes, including medication administration, behavior, and dietary information.
  • Maintaining a safe and welcoming household environment.
  • Assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and meal support.
  • Administering medications as delegated by a licensed nurse, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
  • Collecting vital signs and non-invasive body fluid specimens as needed.
  • Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs.
  • Utilizing cost-effective measures while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Assisting nursing staff with procedures as required.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • At least six months of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Familiarity with long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Necessary certifications based on the state, such as CNA and Certified Medication Aide/Assistant.
  • A willingness to complete required continuing education, with a minimum of 12 hours annually.
