About this unit:

Our Cardiac Telemetry unit specializes in the assessment and care of patients with acute changes, monitoring heart rhythms, interpreting ECGs, and responding to emergencies. With high-level critical thinking skills, our nurses handle complex cardiac cases, including post-operative care and management of patients recovering from heart surgeries and other cardiovascular procedures.

Who are we

• Two dedicated 29-bed units focused on cardiac patient care.

Types of patients we care for:

• Patients with acute and chronic heart failure.
• Electrophysiology patients (pacemakers, ablations).
• Patients undergoing structural heart procedures.
• Post-operative day one open heart surgery patients.
• Post-cardiac catheterization patients.

• We are among the few hospitals providing care for TAVR procedures outside of the ICU.
• Collaborative education with cardiology providers ensures high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
• Offering high-level nursing care for various patients requiring critical care beyond the ICU.

The cardiac progressive care units are an excellent avenue for building your critical thinking skills. Many nurses progress to roles in ICU, cardiac cath lab, or leadership within 18 to 24 months. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 60 months of hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license.
• Registered Nurse Diploma is required.
