Buyer/ Planner

Position Summary:
The Buyer/Planner is a key contributor to the success of the purchasing and production planning functions at our Pheasant Ridge facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of materials and effective planning to support production schedules. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, the Buyer/Planner helps drive supply chain efficiency and supports daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing purchase requisitions, issuing purchase orders, maintaining accurate data, and managing inventory levels for assigned raw materials and components.
- Monitor the status of incoming materials and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, escalating and resolving issues as needed.
- Expedite orders and production processes when necessary to meet operational timelines.
- Maintain data accuracy within procurement systems, including adjustment entries and system records.
- Assist in resolving procurement discrepancies, such as pricing or receiving mismatches.
- Manage relationships with suppliers/vendors, addressing any performance or supply chain issues proactively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational goals and align planning activities.
- Handle receipt acknowledgments and ensure accurate recordkeeping of purchasing activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Utilize pull system or other replenishment methodologies to ensure material availability and minimize inventory excess.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant business software.
- Comfortable working in both office and plant environments.
- Ability to take initiative and contribute to team-based problem solving.
- Willingness to take on additional duties and special assignments as needed.
