Overview: MV Transportation is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager who will provide leadership and direction to an assigned operating location to ensure the successful delivery of annual business plans. This role includes overseeing the daily operations of our transportation contract, ensuring compliance with the policies of the contracting agency and alignment with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach initiatives.
  • Identify, recruit, train, and mentor location staff.
  • Communicate effectively and frequently with location staff and support teams.
  • Oversee safety and training programs to ensure compliance with company, contract, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain routine communication with clients to meet or exceed their expectations.
  • Conduct periodic departmental audits to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Continuously manage location financial metrics, reporting exceptions and developing action plans to meet financial, safety, and operational expectations.
  • Implement and promote adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with policy committees to facilitate improvements in practices and programs.
  • Participate in employee relations activities and labor management negotiations.
  • Provide insight for contract renewals.
  • Create and present the annual budget for the location.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent business management experience.
  • Required management experience.
  • Minimum of five years of comprehensive operations management experience, with at least seven years of management or supervisory experience in a transit environment, and knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software preferred.
  • Expertise in labor relations and negotiations.
  • Thorough understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and compliance with DOT and FTA safety standards.
  • Proficient in MS Office with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills alongside high multitasking capabilities.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities based on individual contract needs.

Starting salary range: $90,000 - $119,995
