Job Title: Data Center Energy MarshalJob Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Energy Marshal to oversee and coordinate energy isolation procedures in high-risk activities within our data center operations. This role requires a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with safety standards and driving continuous improvements in energy isolation processes.
Responsibilities

Coordinate projects by making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures.

Review and recommend contracts and cost estimates.

Audit an Energy Isolation assurance process, addressing any gaps identified in assurance audits.
-
Participate in High Risk Activity (HRA) planning meetings related to Energy Isolation.
-
Ensure approval processes for proposed Energy Isolation procedures are established.
-
Collaborate with the Authorizing Energy Marshal to establish an Energy Isolation Permit process.

Review Statements of Work (SOWs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Scripts to identify all energy sources.

Determine whether group or individual Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) will be required.

Verify qualifications, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) of personnel performing energy isolation work.

Act as an independent authority to stop unsafe work practices related to Energy Isolation.

Liaise with operations to manage energy isolation activities that may impact data center core operations.

Act as the point of contact for all high-risk electrical and mechanical work activities identified through the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process, permit-to-work, or other processes within their assigned Metro.

Attend and participate in technical meetings.

Ensure and assist in coordinating energy isolation activities with all parties, both internal and external, to minimize business interruption and ensure compliance with safety performance specifications and standards.

Support the team by ensuring the latest Electrical System Analysis, including Arc Flash labels and Coordinated Studies, is adhered to during all work.

Initiate new improvement ideas for the project as needed to ensure safe operations and compliance Procedural Operational and Safety.

Support RCAs/Postmortems as required to discuss root causes.

Support construction installation to ensure the above scope can be carried out without incident.
Essential Skills
-
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction and/or data center operations.
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
-
PMI or PMP certification preferred.

5 years of electrical experience.
-
NFPA 70E (NTT/UL) training, eHazard Training, and OSHA 10 certification.

Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, etc.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods.
Work Environment
This role is based in Charlotte, and the standard schedule is Monday to Friday, comprising 50 hours a week. The work environment is structured to support complex technical activities and requires coordination with various stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $82.00/hr.
