Job Title:Litigation Assistant
A well-regarded law firm is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join its busy Litigation practice group. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with attorneys and professional staff in a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.
The role is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid schedule, with approximately 80% in-office attendance required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, format, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and internal memoranda.
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, court dates, and travel arrangements.
- Track attorney and paralegal time entries; assist with billing processes and monthly invoicing.
- Process expense reimbursements and check requests.
- Support client intake, including conflict checks and preparation of engagement letters.
- Provide professional support to clients and internal teams via phone, email, and in-person.
- Monitor court deadlines and ensure timely filings in compliance with court procedures.
- Coordinate court reporters and notify relevant parties and witnesses of scheduled appearances.
- Maintain accurate case calendars and assist with discovery coordination.
- Collaborate across teams to support litigation matters and administrative projects.
- Participate in training sessions to stay current with legal technology and firm systems.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- At least 3 years of relevant administrative experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, California civil litigation procedures, and court filing protocols.
- Experience filing documents in state and federal courts preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Discretion in handling confidential information.
- Strong judgment and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; able to learn new software quickly.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to high-quality client service.
- Base salary range: $90,000-$115,000 annually, depending on experience.
