Job Title: Patient Services Representative

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:30 - 17:00)
Payrate: $
24.94 per hour

Position Overview:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients, both in person and over the phone, in a busy outpatient clinic. This role is ideal for candidates with a clinical background (e.g., MA, CNA) who are seeking a transition into administrative work. The PSR is responsible for front desk operations, including check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and referral processing, while delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient clinic workflow.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
  • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes, and benefit plans
  • Ability to type 35-40 WPM
  • Strong comprehension skills for detailed oral and written instructions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CS-Link/Epic electronic health records system
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Background as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or similar clinical role
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patient relations, both in person and by phone
  • Greet patients, address inquiries, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Manage patient check-in/check-out, collect co-payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily payments
  • Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic
  • Schedule appointments and complete all aspects of patient registration
  • Process and track referrals and authorizations for a variety of insurance types
  • Handle patient and provider correspondence and document interactions
  • Explain clinic policies, procedures, and services clearly to patients
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized workspace in accordance with departmental guidelines
