FORVIA's Clairon Electronics Division is looking for a Cost Engineer who thrives on precision, collaboration, and driving value. In this role, you'll be the strategic link between Finance, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams, ensuring competitive costs from RFQ to end-of-life phases. Your insights will influence sourcing decisions, supplier negotiations, and cost optimization across global programs.
What You'll Do
- Establish benchmark cost targets for purchased and internally manufactured components.
- Support RFQ and sourcing phases with accurate cost simulations aligned with global strategies.
- Audit supplier cost structures, identify gaps, and drive action plans with commodity teams.
- Use advanced costing tools and commercial software to spot savings opportunities in BOM parts.
- Build dashboards highlighting cost-saving potential for purchasing negotiations.
- Partner with Sales to translate internal costs into customer-ready templates.
- Coach purchasing teams on costing fundamentals and audit methodology.
- Collaborate globally to continuously improve benchmark environments.
What We're Looking For
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years in an industrial environment (electronics preferred).
- Strong technical expertise in production/manufacturing engineering.
- Background in costing, engineering, or finance.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings, industrialization studies, and processes like stamping, SMT, injection molding.
- Analytical mindset with strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead supplier discussions.
- Proactive, results-driven, and collaborative team player.
