Primary Duties:

  • Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindications, foreign bodies, and other relevant medical conditions. Select appropriate examinations based on patient history.

  • Verify prescriptions and protocols. Utilize suitable imaging parameters, administer contrast based on patient weight, and confirm renal function status. Ensure high image quality before concluding examinations.

  • Document examinations accurately. Verify correct entry in Cerner, PACS, PenRad, and DynaCAD (if applicable). Help organize and maintain supply inventory and uphold cleanliness in the work area.

  • Prepare films and CDs promptly upon request. Assist in developing and implementing protocols and training new staff and Radiology School students on procedures, imaging protocols, and departmental policies.

  • Gather quality control data for management, including film usage and equipment issues. Complete necessary information system tasks to ensure accurate patient information, billing, examinations, and other essential functions.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or 1-3 years formal training from an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

  • Job-related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program. This requirement will be waived for MedStar Washington Hospital Center Radiology School students who have completed MRI rotations.

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification required within one year.

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory.

This position offers a competitive hiring range of USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 per hour.
