Description
  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using established assessment tools and observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate thoughtfully with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to construct comprehensive care plans.
  • Facilitate education for patients and their families, offering resources to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Conduct occasional inpatient speech evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity throughout the care process.
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational protocols.
  • Engage in continuous education and professional growth, staying up to date with advancements in the field.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a legitimate and accredited university.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.

  • Strong foundation in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of speech, language, and swallowing disorders, both developmental and acquired.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
