Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients ranging from children to seniors utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Create customized therapeutic plans targeting both immediate objectives and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that emphasize language, fluency, voice, articulation, and safe swallowing.
  • Work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team - including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians - to formulate integrated care approaches.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to enhance progress beyond therapy appointments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring seamless transitions in care delivery.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with all relevant regulations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech therapy through continual education and networking.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days after hire.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices related to speech, language, and swallowing therapy for all age groups.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Competence in modifying therapy modalities to cater to a diverse cultural and linguistic clientele.
  • Robust clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and related documentation protocols.
