Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients ranging from children to seniors utilizing both standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create customized therapeutic plans targeting both immediate objectives and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing necessities.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that emphasize language, fluency, voice, articulation, and safe swallowing.
- Work in partnership with a multidisciplinary team - including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians - to formulate integrated care approaches.
- Provide education for patients and their families to enhance progress beyond therapy appointments.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and treatments, ensuring seamless transitions in care delivery.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with all relevant regulations.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech therapy through continual education and networking.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days after hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices related to speech, language, and swallowing therapy for all age groups.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Competence in modifying therapy modalities to cater to a diverse cultural and linguistic clientele.
- Robust clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
