Description
  • Conduct assessments on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric categories using a blend of standardized measures and observational insights.
  • Design individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy sessions that concentrate on various aspects including communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing function.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure synchronized care strategies.
  • Provide education for patients and their families to empower them in the healing journey outside the clinical setting.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies to ensure seamless care along the treatment trajectory.
  • Ensure meticulous documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Commit to professional growth through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting your role.
Skills
  • Strong grasp of evidence-based therapy techniques for all demographics, as well as a deep understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for effective interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy approaches to align with various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment complemented by effective problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation procedures.
