About the Team

At Nutanix, our Enterprise Security team is a dynamic and diverse group comprising over 40 talented members located across the globe. This team is committed to enhancing the cybersecurity integrity of our organization while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. As a Senior Staff Security Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to provide critical analysis, contribute to global security initiatives, and spearhead continuous improvement efforts. The culture within the team thrives on collaboration, engaging closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, both internally and externally, to effectively drive our security initiatives. In this capacity, you will act as a trusted Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing essential guidance and championing initiatives that enhance our security posture.

You will report to the Manager, Security Engineering, who is committed to empowering team members through mentorship and clear communication. Our work setup is designed for flexibility, with the role being fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere. Additionally, there are no travel requirements for this position, enabling you to focus entirely on your contributions to the team and our security objectives without the need for frequent travel.

Your Role

  • Lead the development and management of Enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and refine Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies across the organization.

  • Architect and oversee the implementation of security strategies for IAM, PAM, and DLP programs to enhance overall security posture.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

  • Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge security tools and technologies to improve defense mechanisms against threats.

  • Stay informed on industry trends to ensure the organization's security practices remain innovative and effective.

  • Define and track objectives for continuous improvement in security practices and team performance.

  • Engage in incident response and participate in security assessments, ensuring robust preparedness for potential threats.

What You Will Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in security engineering, with a strong emphasis on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of managing security initiatives and cross-functional team collaboration.

  • In-depth knowledge of current security technologies and tools related to IAM, PAM, and DLP.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive effective security solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and mentoring team members.

  • Ability to stay current with industry trends and evolving security practices.

  • Experience in incident response and conducting security assessments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Work Arrangement

Remote: This position is primarily remote. There is no specific in-office requirement, however, there may be circumstances where you may be required to come into a local office for a specific purpose, and/or to travel to other locations based on business needs.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 169,600 and USD $ 288,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
