The Clinical Nurse II plays a vital role in fostering a compassionate environment for patients, families, and colleagues through active listening and kindness. This position recognizes the value of each employee's contributions to the overall mission of the healthcare team.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, and perform treatments while documenting care as required by policies and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess and identify patients' conditions effectively.
- Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to the care provided.
- Utilize sound nursing judgment in all patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer both over-the-counter and prescription medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement comprehensive plans of care for all patients.
- Guide and direct ancillary personnel while maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care preferred.
- Outstanding communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledgeable in quality concepts and adept in their application to enhance departmental and patient care improvement.
