Emergency Restoration Technician

Job Summary
The Emergency Restoration Technician plays a crucial role within a dedicated team to deliver exceptional emergency services and content restoration. Adhering to established company policies and relevant safety regulations (including EPA and OSHA), this position is essential for effective remediation efforts. There will be instances requiring after-hours and weekend availability for emergency response.
Responsibilities
- Perform content restoration for both residential and commercial spaces.
- Engage in physical labor for cleanup tasks, including packing customer belongings, on-site cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and deodorizing facilities.
- Assist with inventory management, setup of emergency equipment, and prepare items for storage.
- Follow safety protocols meticulously when conducting cleanup operations and using protective equipment.
- Utilize common tools and equipment regularly used in restoration tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Maintain warehouse organization, stock supplies, and assist with building upkeep.
- Work effectively at heights utilizing ladders and scaffolding.
- Handle hazardous waste operations following best practices.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Technical Skills: Proficient in basic math operations and the ability to compute rates and percentages.
Communication Skills: Capable of reading and interpreting safety documents, writing reports, and effectively communicating in group settings.
Work Environment: The position involves working in varied conditions, including environments that are often dirty, dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous. The technician may work in extreme weather and handle hazardous materials, requiring appropriate personal protective equipment. There may be frequent travel involved.
Physical Demands: Candidates should be in good physical health, capable of meeting the medical requirements for an OSHA (HAZWOPER) examination, and able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Applicants must be comfortable wearing respirators and working in confined spaces.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of relevant construction experience, particularly with water/fire damage, as well as experience in environmental and hazardous waste operations.
Certifications Needed: Current environmental physical for respirator use, OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification, valid state driver's license, and forklift operator certification.
Additional Qualifications: Experience in the construction industry is preferred, along with IICRC Water Restoration certification and heavy equipment operation knowledge being a plus. The ideal candidate will showcase a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and effective communication skills, committed to safety protocols. Legal eligibility to work in the United States is mandatory. Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are encouraged but not required.
