Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized and observational methodologies.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies to meet both immediate needs and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions, focusing on facets such as communication, language acquisition, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to develop cohesive and effective care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families on navigating communication challenges to ensure continued progress outside therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
  • Document clinical findings, treatment strategies, and patient progress in alignment with state regulations and institutional policies.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development through continuing education and networking with peers.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Licenses & Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods applicable to various age groups, alongside a deep understanding of the intricacies of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to engage successfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt therapies to meet varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical abilities for clinical judgement and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
