Position Title: QA analyst
Location: Linthicum Heights, MD (Onsite)

Position Summary

The QA Engineer ensures that software delivered to DHS / CSMS stakeholders meets quality standards, requirements, and is defect-free. The role includes designing, executing, and maintaining test cases, integrating testing into CI/CD, and working closely with development to prevent defects early in the software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop test strategies, plans, and test cases (functional, integration, regression, performance).
  • Execute manual and automated tests, track defects, ensure resolution.
  • Automate test cases using test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, JUnit, etc.).
  • Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and operations to refine requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform cross-browser, cross-platform, usability, and accessibility testing.
  • Monitor quality metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from QA perspective.
  • Document test results, maintain test artifacts, and audit test coverage.
  • Use defect tracking tools and manage bug lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with security, accessibility, and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years experience in software testing / QA.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile / scrum.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD.
  • Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in government / regulated systems (e.g. compliance, accessibility).
  • Performance or load testing experience (e.g. JMeter, LoadRunner).
  • Security / penetration testing knowledge.
  • Experience in REST API / integration testing.

Experience with service virtualization / mocking tools.
