The Assistant Chief Medical Officer will supervise and mentor primary care providers (PCPs) at assigned centers, focusing on enhancing our core model's clinical quality, efficiency, and overall patient outcomes. This role entails a mix of direct patient care and leadership responsibilities aimed at cultivating a thriving clinical and operational culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with both acute and chronic illnesses, particularly among older adults.
- Take full accountability for patient care, ensuring appropriate consultations with specialists as necessary while remaining involved in their detailed care.
- Engage actively with hospitalist teams whenever your patients are hospitalized.
- Conduct assessments, diagnoses, treatments, management, education, health promotion, and coordination of care for patients with complex health needs.
- Lead a dedicated care team, including care promoters (medical assistants), care facilitators, and care coordinators, to ensure seamless patient experiences.
- For patients unable to visit the office, collaborate with transitional care teams and other healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate weekly Super Huddle and Transforming Care Meetings, contributing to center management and covering for absent providers as needed.
- Mentor and support PCPs in achieving outstanding clinical outcomes and participate in recruitment efforts for both patients and healthcare providers.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with center operations to enhance financial performance and boost center membership.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty required.
- Active MD licensure in the state of employment is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a relevant setting is preferred, ideally with experience as a ChenMed PCP Partner.
- Completion of ChenMed training focused on effective communication and meeting leadership as part of your development plan.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a similar specialty preferred; Board Eligibility is required.
- Current DEA registration for controlled substances is essential.
- Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 90 days of employment, if not already certified.
SALARY RANGE: $238,832 - $341,189
