We are looking for a Telecommunications Engineering Specialist who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients' business. Join us and you'll have the chance to work on projects within the booming semiconductor industry designing research and manufacturing facilities for well-known companies within the industry. You will thrive as you provide telecommunications systems design services and documentation for our client's advanced facilities which, in turn, shape our world. This is a hybrid position with geographic flexibility located in the US.

In this role, you will take on a leadership role as a telecom discipline lead and work with supporting design staff to produce complex design packages. This is done in coordination with architects and other discipline engineers / design leads all under one Jacobs "roof". You will interface directly with these team members as well as our client directly while working side-by-side on our client's site in Hillsboro, Oregon to design the structured cabling infrastructure to support their ever-evolving needs. Our teams leverage AutoCAD and Revit MEP design software to create fully coordinated 3D models across all disciplines (C,S,A,M,E,P,T,I,L). Through a mixture of full 3D BIM delivery, construction specifications and 2D sheets, you'll lead the design of everything from Outside Plant (OSP) to inter / intra-building backbone distribution systems, communication room layouts, rack elevations, wired & wireless device plans and much more. All facets of the designs and calculations will be completed in accordance with the NEC, applicable TIA and other industry standards as well as Client and/or Jacobs specifications, as applicable.

• Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience

• BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) or RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in telecommunications design and construction industry

• Deep knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) as applicable to telecommunications design requirements

• Deep knowledge and application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards

• Experience leading a team of 5-10 telecommunications design staff

• Experience editing design and construction specifications

• Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems

• Experience estimating and scheduling design efforts for multi-building projects with multiple phases

• Experience in providing quality assurance (QA) and checking telecommunications systems designed by others

• Proficiency with Bluebeam

• Strong communication skills

• Familiarity with Navisworks

Ideally, you'll also have:??

• Bachelor's degree in related field

• Professional Engineer (PE) license

• Design management experience

• Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms

• Design experience in semiconductor, data center or other high-tech facilities

• Knowledge and design experience with wireless local area network (WLAN),paging, intercom

• Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for control systems
