The National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC) Division of the Leidos Fed Civ IT Business Area is seeking a Senior Computer Systems Architect. This important role involves collaborating with a talented team to provide vital support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City.
The Senior Computer Systems Architect will play a critical role in supporting operations and engineering services for the En Route Surveillance Team and Long Range Radar systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interpret technical requirements of the En Route Surveillance Team and guide the program manager with system engineering insights.
- Assist in the creation of system engineering plans, evaluating alternatives for cost, risk, and supportability.
- Oversee hardware-software-network design, development, integration, verification, validation, and fielding processes.
- Facilitate communication among system users, managers, engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to address issues and provide solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses including mission, functional, performance, and requirements analyses.
- Define potential system architectures and manage internal and external interfaces.
- Perform system analysis and modeling.
- Evaluate alternatives, considering costs, risks, and overall system supportability.
- Coordinate specialty disciplines such as interoperability, reliability, and system safety.
- Monitor hardware and software development, integration, and testing processes.
- Conduct systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, and ensure quality assurance.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must possess extensive knowledge of the FAA National Airspace System and relevant experience with facilities, surveillance, and navigation aids used in the system.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10 to 13 years of experience. A Doctorate in a relevant technical field may be considered. Additional experience may substitute for educational requirements.
Essential skills include:
- Budget oversight and project scheduling.
- User requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to deliver quality technical solutions while adhering to timelines.
- Familiarity with architectural schematics and critical technologies.
- Development and maintenance of technological roadmaps.
- Effective communication with staff and management at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills to identify gaps and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge in the following areas is preferred:
- Common Air Route Surveillance Radar (CARSR).
- Air Route Surveillance Radar Model 4 (ARSR-4).
- Replacement systems for ARSR-4 in Hawaii (ARSR4R-H).
Preferred experience includes skills in:
AWS, C#, Python, SAS, SQS, Java, Tableau, PowerBI, MATLAB, OpenShift, SonarQube, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SES, SNS, S3, EFS, FSx, EC2, VPC, Step Functions, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, ECR, SecretsManager, Transfer Family (SFTP), EBS, Aurora, IAM, and APIG.

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
