Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive on time for work as scheduled.
- Repair and overhaul equipment such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and electrical/mechanical control devices.
- Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and mechanical skills.
- Maintain accurate records of work history.
- Perform general repairs on refrigeration, heating, and ventilation equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
- Work on minor construction and remodeling projects, including the startup of new installations.
- Embody the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Training
- High school diploma or GED; equivalent work experience with trade or technical school classes.
- Valid EPA certificate.
Work Experience / Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets is a plus.
- Familiarity with single systems, rack systems, display cases, and walk-in boxes.
- Knowledge of compressor components and control circuits.
- Ability to use an ohmmeter and verify capacitor integrity.
- Understanding of defrost circuits, schematic, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to perform leak checks, demonstrate safety equipment use, and determine superheat settings.
- Ability to recover refrigerant, perform HVAC preventative maintenance, and change oil in a vacuum pump.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Ability to use business tools like E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
