Department: Sonography
Sign On Bonus: $10,000 – Paid in full on the first paycheck
Schedule: Full-time, day shift (32 hours/week)
Pay Range: Starting at $37.60/hour, with daily pay options available
Shift Differentials: Additional pay for nights, weekends, and extra shifts.
Location: SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI
Qualifications: Complete a Sonography program and obtain ARDMS or CCI registry in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular within 12 months of hire.
Relocation assistance: Available for qualified candidates.
Job Summary:
As a Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic procedures using ultrasound technology to examine body structures, ensuring high-quality images for accurate interpretation. This position requires registration as a sonographer with at least two registries related to the department, or one registry within Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your second registry in primary or secondary departments at least 30% of the time.
- Set up and adjust equipment, maneuvering transducers effectively to conduct exams.
- Implement safety standards and quality control procedures consistently.
- Conduct both routine and complex studies, assisting with various imaging procedures.
- Recognize significant structures, artifacts, and pathology, addressing any equipment limitations.
- Ensure all ultrasound equipment is functioning properly and report issues promptly.
- Submit high-quality images and relevant documentation to PACS (image quality, labels, and patient history).
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment in all department areas.
- Comply with all regulatory agency requirements.
- Work with a constant focus on safety and alertness.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a Sonography program is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision, hearing, and communication for various tasks.
- Lift and move patients and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Engage in activities requiring reaching, gripping, and data entry frequently.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, and twisting movements.
Certifications Required:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty – ARDMS.
- And one of the following combinations:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty – ARDMS; OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with Fetal Echocardiography Specialty (RDMS(FE)) – ARDMS; OR Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) – ARDMS.
